Chef Edgar Montes de Oca, originally from Ecuador moved to US 33 years ago, started working in the restaurant business, in different positions, from front to back of house. His capacity to learn each roll in the kitchen was impressive and his enthusiasm helped him to move up very quickly. He spent many hours cooking and discovering, by the minute, that cooking was his passion. Edgar graduated from St. Augustine in Culinary Arts, in Chicago.
Chef Edgar moved to Las Vegas in 1999. He worked in fine restaurants, like Lettuce Entertainment, Commanders Palace and Mon Ami Gabi, acquiring more experience and waiting for the right moment and opportunity to open his own restaurant.
On 2009 he opened his first restaurant called Barcelona Tapas Bar and Restaurant located in Southern Highlands Las Vegas.
His experience in the restaurant business, his professionalism, his talent and his dedication are the perfect combination for success. Most important he loves what he does. Edgar has earned his very unique space, in Las Vegas restaurant industry.
